The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight to the Microsoft Information Technology Academy (ITA) and Certiport credentialing initiative for the state and will be a liaison to the educational institutions who participate in the grant. The Kansas State Board of Nursing is seeking applicants for a Registered Nurse Senior to investigate official complaints involving violations of state statutes and regulations by Board of Nursing licensees.  The position is based in Topeka, with travel required.  Applications will be accepted through December 28, 2014.

The incumbent will perform all aspects of an investigation including a visit to the site of the alleged violation, conducting interviews, ascertaining facts, obtaining evidence, utilizing law enforcement contacts, making violation determinations, and preparing subpoenas as needed. Duties will also include organizing evidence, writing reports, presenting findings, and testifying.

Rate of Pay: $26.98 hr.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas and at least one year of experience in registered nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:  

B.S. level professional nursing curriculum.  Three years nursing practice experience preferably in hospital setting.  Specialized training in law enforcement or one year investigative experience in health care delivery.

Special Qualifications:

Ability to travel in-state by automobile.

After employment, the selected candidate will be required to obtain a Level 2 background security clearance, qualify as a Notary Public, and successfully complete the investigator training course (CLEAR).

The Kansas Highway Patrol is currently seeking applicants to become Kansas State Troopers. The deadline to apply is December 22, 2014. -Individuals having met the hiring process requirements will report to Salina for training on July 8, 2015

-Starting recruit pay is $18.26 per hour

-Upon graduation pay goes up to $20.13 per hour

-105 county jurisdiction with freedom to self-initiate activity in different areas (not stuck within one county or city)

Veterans Preference reflects Wichita State's recognition of the unique talents, skills and experiences that former service personnel offer.

Wichita State University is proud to be a leader in innovating our Veterans' Preference policy to extend beyond the parameters of the state of Kansas mandate to include all university positions not just civil service positions.

Any applicant for employment who meets the criteria for Veterans' Preference will be guaranteed a first level interview if they meet the minimum requirements for the position applied, score in the top 25% of the applicant pool as determined by objective scoring and have applied by the priority consideration date.

Metropolitian Community College - Electric utility line technicians install and repair poles, conductors, cables and equipment used in electrical power and distribution systems. They often work to restore energy to homes and businesses during storms, identifying and repairing damaged equipment, poles and wire. The program, which only starts in the summer, begins with a one-year certificate. You can then go on to get an associate's degree for transfer. The program is fine tuned to meet real-world needs. Two utility companies, Kansas City Power & Light and Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative, are on the MCC-BTC advisory board for course content.
