Representative Lynn Jenkins visits Topeka STARBASE class

Col. Roger Murdock, chief of the joint staff, Kansas National Guard, accepts a donation of tickets to the Arab Shrine Circus from Jim Whitehad, potentate of the Topeka Arab Shrine. The presentation was made Jan. 28 at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard. The tickets will be given to children of Kansas National Guard families.

Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins visits with 5th grade students from Farley Elementary iin Topeka Jan 19. The students were taking part in a week-long STARBASE academy sponsored by the Kansas National Guard.

The 997th Brigade Support Battalion deployed Stranded Motorists Assistance Response Teams to patrol roads in northwest Kansas, searching for stranded motorists. The four vehicles and 10 personnel were activated due to blizzard conditions.

An Abrams tank from the Kansas National Guard's 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 137th Infantry rumbles down a Topeka street during the city's annual Veterans Day parade Nov. 7. The tank was just one of many Kansas National Guard vehicles in the parade.
