635th Regional Support Group

635th Regional Support GroupMission: On order, the 635th Regional Support Group deploys to provide contingency and expeditionary base operations support to the designated joint force commander. The RSG also provides mission command and the management of the reception, staging, onward movement, and integration of supporting forces during homeland security, homeland defense, and civil support missions, and conducts domestic support operations in support of state and federal agencies as directed.

Command Leadership and Unit Structure

The brigade commander is Lt. Col. Carlin Williams.

The senior noncommissioned officer is Command Sgt. Maj. Linus Thuston.

The unit consists of:

  • 1st Battalion, 108th Aviation
  • 1st Battalion, 635th Armor Regiment
  • 891st Engineer Battalion

2022 Unit Highlights

Supported subordinate units of the Regional Support Group for annual training missions across the state of Kansas and the 1st Battalion, 108th Aviation Regiment while conducting training at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Louisiana.

Provided public affairs, operations, logistics and training support to 1st Battalion, 235th Regiment at the consolidated six-state Officer Candidate School Phase I course.
