Learn skills that would be useful in case of an emergency!
Training Ideas!
Many skills can be learned online, but there are also opportunities for in-person trainings. While there are many things to learn, you do not have to do it alone! Our communities are strongest when we work together, find out what skills your friends, family, neighbors, and community can share, and what you can share with them. Reach out to your local fire department, library, or community health center to learn about training in your area or to learn if a class can be scheduled.
You can also join a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a team that teaches basic skills that would be useful in case of a disaster. You can check with your local Emergency Manager to find active teams in your area, or if there’s any interest in starting one.
