Overview
We are seeking a part-time Technician Apprentice located in our Olathe, KS office. In this role, you will be responsible for basic application of electronic theory, electrical testing procedures and related knowledge to lay-out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and electronic equipment.
Essential Functions
- Help trace circuits of defective units, using knowledge of electronic theory and electronic test equipment to locate to the component level
- Discuss layout and assembly problems with Electronics technicians and draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units
- Assemble experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype model according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components and their functions
- Analyze and recommend basic changes in circuitry or installation specifications to improve assembly, maintenance, test method or product performance
- Set up standard test apparatus or contrive test equipment and circuitry and conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production products
- Analyze and interpret test data and adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance
- Record test/alignment procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data and evaluate equipment and processes to ensure associate safety
- Must possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
- Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin’s Attendance Policy)
- Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements
