Kansas National Guard Soldiers and Airmen will take part in a number of Memorial Day events and ceremonies across the state.

Attica – Staff Sgt. Jesse Waugh, Recruiting and Retention Battalion, will be the guest speaker at a Memorial Day service at Attica Cemetery, west of Attica on NW 60th Road. The service begins at 9:30 a.m.
Clifton – Staff Sgt. Luke Collins, 250th Forward Support Company, will be the guest speaker for a Memorial Day ceremony at Berner Memorial Park, 634 E. Parallel St. The program, hosted by the Clifton American Legion Post, begins at 10 a.m.
Galva – Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Jeremy Bower, 35th Infantry Division, will give the invocation at a Memorial Day Remembrance at Empire Cemetery 1145 22nd Ave. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.
McPherson – Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Jeremy Bower, 35th Infantry Division, will deliver the invocation at a Memorial Day Remembrance at Crestwood Memorial Park, 1444 County Road 448 (Pawnee Rd.) The ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. Bowers will also give the invocation for a Memorial Day Remembrance at McPherson Cemetery, 1601 Cemetery Dr. That ceremony will begin at 10:15 a.m.
Ottawa County – 1st Lt. Patrick Hill, 174th Field Feeding Platoon; Chief Warrant Officer 4 David Lockhart, 1st Battalion, 235th Regiment; Sgt. 1st Class Shaun Carter, 1st Battalion, 235th Regiment; and Staff Sgt. Matthew Vail, 995th Maintenance Company; will provide a color guard for three Memorial Day events in Ottawa County sponsored by Minneapolis VFW 3201: Ada, Kansas Fairview Cemetery memorial ceremony, N. 130th Road, beginning at 9 a.m.; Bennington, Bennington Cemetery memorial ceremony, 824 N. Nelson St, beginning at 9:45 a.m.; Minneapolis, Highland Cemetery memorial ceremony, Kansas Highway 106, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Topeka – Lt. Col. Bryan Gregory, commander of the Recruiting and Retention Battalion, will be the guest speaker for a Memorial Day ceremony at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6th and Gage, beginning at 10 a.m. Gregory will also be the guest speaker for a ceremony at Mount Hope Cemetery, 17th and Fairlawn Rd. That ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
Wichita – Col. Steve Smart, commander of the 184th Wing, will be the guest speaker for a Memorial Day program at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 US-54. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.
Wilson – Master Sgt. Christopher Barth, 184th Security Forces Squadron, will take part in a flag detail and rifle salute team for a Memorial Day ceremony at Veterans Park, 2603 Ave. E, beginning at 8 a.m.
